Grape Pie is a popular indica-dominant hybrid (typically ~70% indica / 30% sativa) bred from Cherry Pie × Grape Stomper (commonly attributed to Cannarado Genetics). It is a classic dessert strain prized for its sweet grape and berry flavors, resin production, and balanced relaxing effects. It is widely available as high-THCA hemp flower.

Strain Overview

  • Genetics: Cherry Pie (Durban Poison × Granddaddy Purple influences, contributing pastry/dough and cherry notes) crossed with Grape Stomper (also known as Sour Grapes; Purple Elephant × Chemdawg Sour Diesel lineage, adding bright grape candy aromatics and resin). The result is a fruit-forward dessert hybrid.
  • Type: Indica-dominant hybrid. Flowering time is often 8–10 weeks; plants are generally medium height with dense, resinous buds that can show purple hues.
  • Flavor and aroma: Sweet grape candy or grape jam, mixed berries, dark fruit, with earthy, spicy, doughy/pastry, or subtle floral (lavender-like) undertones. Dominant terpenes commonly include caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, and myrcene.
  • Appearance: Dense, trichome-heavy buds, often with green and purple tones and orange pistils.
  • Potency: Typically mid-to-high teens to mid-20s% THC/THCA in traditional markets (commonly 18–25%+). THCA flower examples often land in the mid-to-high 20s% THCA range (e.g., ~25–27%+). CBD is usually very low.
  • Effects: Onset often includes cerebral euphoria, mood lift, and happiness that transitions into full-body relaxation and calm. It is frequently described as a slow slide from upbeat/giggly to couch-friendly without always being a heavy knockout at moderate doses. Common reports include relaxed, happy, and euphoric feelings; suitable for evening or unwinding. Dry mouth/eyes are typical.

It has a strong following as a flavorful dessert strain and has been used in further breeding. Always check a current Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the exact batch’s potency and terpenes.

Key FAQs: Grape Pie and THCA Flower in General

What is THCA flower?
THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the non-psychoactive acidic precursor to delta-9 THC that occurs naturally in raw cannabis and hemp. “THCA flower” refers to buds high in THCA (often 15–35%+) with very low measured delta-9 THC (typically ≤0.3% dry weight). When smoked or vaped, heat converts THCA to THC via decarboxylation.

Does Grape Pie / THCA flower get you high?

  • Raw/unheated: Generally not intoxicating.
  • Smoked, vaped, or otherwise heated: Yes—effects are comparable to traditional high-THC cannabis. For Grape Pie, that typically means a euphoric mood lift followed by relaxing body effects.

Is it the same as regular cannabis?
Chemically and experientially when heated, yes. The primary distinction is the legal classification under current hemp rules (low measured delta-9 THC). Grape Pie’s grape-dessert profile and effects are consistent across traditional and THCA markets.

Is THCA flower legal?

  • Federally (as of late October 2026): Often treated as legal hemp if delta-9 THC ≤0.3% dry weight under the 2018 Farm Bill framework.
  • Major change on December 11, 2026: Federal law shifts to a total-THC standard (delta-9 + approximately 0.877 × THCA). Most high-THCA flower will no longer qualify as hemp and will be treated as marijuana. Finished products also face a low per-container total THC cap.
  • State laws: Highly variable. Many states already restrict, ban, or limit smokable high-THCA products (some allow them only through licensed cannabis dispensaries). Always verify your specific state and local rules.

Will it show up on a drug test?
Yes. Once converted to THC and metabolized, it produces the same metabolites that standard cannabis tests detect.

How strong is typical THCA flower / Grape Pie?
Premium indoor flower often ranges from the high teens to low-to-mid 30s% THCA. Grape Pie examples commonly land in the mid-to-high 20s% range. Effects depend on terpenes, dose, tolerance, and method of use. Start low if you are new to high-potency flower.

Other practical notes

  • Quality markers: Strong, authentic grape/berry aroma on opening, visible trichomes, and a current third-party COA showing contaminants pass and decent terpene content.
  • Best use: Most people smoke or vape for effects. It is often preferred for flavor-focused sessions and evening relaxation.
  • Medical claims: Anecdotal reports link it to stress relief, mood support, or physical comfort, but this is not an approved medicine. Consult a doctor for health concerns.
  • Responsibility: Intended for adults 21+ where legal. Do not drive or operate machinery while impaired. Effects vary by individual.

In short, Grape Pie is a well-regarded dessert hybrid known for its grape-forward flavor and balanced euphoric-to-relaxing effects in the high-THCA market. Confirm the COA for any specific product and check current local laws, especially with the December 11, 2026 federal definition change approaching. Enjoy responsibly if you choose to use it.

What is THCA?

THCA is the precursor to Delta 9 THC. Signified by the “A” in THCA. THCA becomes Delta 9 THC through heating, which also gives it a psychoactive effect. Without heating, THCA does not have any effects. Therefore, when heated THCA becomes regular Delta 9 THC and has the strength and effects of the THC we all know and love.

Benefit of THCA Hemp Flower

Vaporizing or smoking hemp flower gives your body immediate access to the effects of the cannabinoids and terpenes, and with a high percentage of bioavailability (i.e., the amount that actually enters your bloodstream). As a vaporized or smoked product, the cannabinoids (e.g., CBD, Delta-9, etc.) and other compounds are aerosolized as you inhale, which means that the absorption rate is significantly faster than if you ingest the cannabinoids (e.g., edibles, sublingual oils, etc.). Not only do vaporized cannabinoids and terpenes hit your sublingual glands as the vapor passes through your mouth, it also gets directly into your bloodstream as vapor reaches the small blood vessels in your lungs. When it comes to immediately feeling the full effects of this hemp flower, there is no better delivery system. When consuming edibles, as a comparison, the delivery to your bloodstream takes a longer path through the digestive system, which may delay the effect 1-2 hours. Also during the digestion process, you’ll lose a significant amount as waste, allowing for only 10-15% of the product to actually enter your bloodstream.

WHAT IS HEMP COMPLIANT DELTA-9 THC?

The term “Hemp Compliant” refers to the THC percentage in a Hemp-derived product. Under the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp products can’t contain more than 0.3% Delta 9 THC. Also, the THC needs to be sourced from the Hemp plant and not from the Marijuana plant. Each product in the Binoid hemp flower collection is from premium Hemp that contains less than 0.3% of Delta-9 THC by dry weight. So, this THCA hemp flower is Federally legal!

2018 Farm Bill

How does the 2018 Farm Bill define hemp? What does it mean for FDA-regulated products?

At the federal level, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, Pub. L. 115-334, (the 2018 Farm Bill) was signed into law on Dec. 20, 2018. Among other things, this new law changes certain federal authorities relating to the production and marketing of hemp, defined as “the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.” These changes include removing hemp from the CSA, which means that cannabis plants and derivatives that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis are no longer controlled substances under federal law.

The 2018 Farm Bill, however, explicitly preserved FDA’s authority to regulate products containing cannabis or cannabis-derived compounds under the FDC Act and section 351 of the Public Health Service Act (PHS Act). FDA treats products containing cannabis or cannabis-derived compounds as it does any other FDA-regulated products — meaning they’re subject to the same authorities and requirements as FDA-regulated products containing any other substance. This is true regardless of whether the cannabis or cannabis-derived compounds are classified as hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill.
