Which THCa Pre Roll Is Right for Me?
Walk into the THCa pre roll collection and you're looking at a dozen strains that all promise the same thing: premium indoor flower, hand rolled, no additives, lab tested. So how do you actually pick one?
The short answer is that the strain determines the experience, not the potency. Every Alpha pre roll in our lineup is rolled from the same grade of exotic indoor THCa flower — 1.25g per roll, RAW filter tip, straight flower with no oils, dust, or diamonds packed in. What changes from jar to jar is the terpene profile: the aromatic compounds that decide whether you finish a joint feeling wired and chatty, mellow and social, or ready to fall asleep in your chair.
This guide walks through every single strain we carry, what it tastes like, what it tends to do, and who it's for.
One important note before you read on: under Section 781 of the 2026 Appropriations Act, the federal definition of hemp changes on November 12, 2026 to a total-THC standard that counts THCa toward the 0.3% limit, plus a 0.4mg total-THC-per-container cap on finished products. If that goes into effect as written, hemp-derived THCa pre rolls like these can no longer be sold or shipped online. Every jar on this page falls into the category the rule targets. More on that at the bottom — but if there's a strain you've been meaning to try, the window to order it online is closing.
First, a 30-second primer: indica, sativa, hybrid
These labels are shorthand, not science, but they're useful shorthand.
- 🟣 Indica — body-forward. Heavier, slower, physically relaxing. Best for evenings, winding down, sleep, and turning your brain off.
- 🔴 Sativa — head-forward. Brighter, more alert, more talkative. Best for daytime, creative work, getting outside, and social settings.
- 🟢 Hybrid — somewhere in between, and honestly where most modern strains actually live. Good all-day options that relax you without flattening you.
If you're new to THCa, start with a hybrid. It's the least likely to catch you off guard in either direction.
🟣 The Indicas — for evenings, sleep, and shutting the day off
Pave Runtz — the heavy candy indica
Shop Pave Runtz THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Pave Runtz is a Runtz-family indica, which means it inherits that unmistakable Runtz sweetness — sugary, candy-shop, faintly tropical — but leans hard into the sedating end. There's a gassy backbone underneath the sweet that keeps it from tasting like a dessert strain, and the smoke is smooth enough that people who don't normally reach for indicas tend to like this one.
Reported effects: relaxed, calm, sleepy.
Smoke this one if: you want the strain that ends the day. It's the pick for the couch, the last hour before bed, or the evening where you specifically don't want to be productive. It's also a good candidate if you use cannabis for winding down physically after work — the body effect is the main event here, not the head change.
Skip it if: you've got anything left on your to-do list.
Nerdz Runtz — grape candy, dessert-strain flavor
Shop Nerdz Runtz THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Want to try it first? Grab a single 1.25g Nerd Runtz sampler for $8 →
Also sold as “Nerdz,” “Blue Nerds,” “Pink Nerds,” and “Nerds OG,” this one comes from crossing Strawberry Cough with Grape Ape, and it tastes exactly like that pedigree suggests: grape-forward on the inhale with a sweet, fruity strawberry finish. It is one of the best-tasting strains in the lineup, and it's the flavor people come back for.
Reported effects: relaxed, calm, sleepy — with more of a euphoric lift on the front end than Pave Runtz, thanks to the Strawberry Cough side.
Smoke this one if: flavor is a top-three priority for you. If you've been disappointed by pre rolls that taste like plant matter and nothing else, this is the corrective. It's also the most forgiving indica here for evening social use — you get the relaxation without going fully horizontal right away.
Skip it if: you don't like sweet, candied strains and prefer earthy or gassy profiles.
Black Ice — the heaviest one we carry
Shop Black Ice THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Black Ice is the deep, dark end of the menu — dense berry and cool menthol notes over a heavy earthy base. Where the Runtz strains are bright and candied, Black Ice is brooding. The smoke is thicker and the effect arrives with more weight behind it.
Reported effects: relaxed, calm, sleepy.
Smoke this one if: you have a real tolerance and other indicas have stopped impressing you, or if your main reason for smoking at night is that you have trouble getting to sleep. Half a roll of this is a reasonable dose for most people.
Skip it if: you're new to THCa. Start somewhere gentler and work up.
Trophy Wife — indica-hybrid, single roll
Shop the Trophy Wife THCa Pre Roll — 1.25g single, $8 →
Trophy Wife sits right on the line — indica-leaning but with enough hybrid character that it doesn't put you straight to bed. It's sold as a single 1.25g roll rather than a jar, which makes it the natural “I want to try something without buying ten of them” option.
Reported effects: relaxed and mellow with a clear-headed edge; the softest landing of the indica group.
Smoke this one if: you want an evening strain that still lets you hold a conversation or watch something and follow the plot. It's also the smart buy if you're building a sampler order and want to test-drive an indica-hybrid before committing to a 10 pack.
🟢 The Hybrids — all-day strains, and where most people should start
Gelato Runtz — the crowd-pleaser
Shop Gelato Runtz THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Gelato crossed with Runtz is one of the most reliably popular pairings in modern cannabis, and for good reason. You get Gelato's creamy, dessert-like sweetness — think sweet cream and citrus zest — layered over Runtz's candy sugar. Smooth, rich, and easy to smoke.
Reported effects: uplifting, energetic, creative.
Smoke this one if: you don't know where to start. This is the strain we'd hand a first-time THCa buyer. It's balanced enough for daytime, pleasant enough to smoke socially, and forgiving enough that you're unlikely to overshoot. If you've only ever smoked dispensary Gelato, this will feel familiar.
Blockberry — berry-forward and even-keeled
Shop Blockberry THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Blockberry is the fruit-forward hybrid of the group — jammy dark berry on the nose, a little sweet-tart on the exhale, with an earthy foundation that keeps it grounded. It's less sugary than the Runtz family and reads more “fresh fruit” than “candy.”
Reported effects: uplifting, energetic, creative.
Smoke this one if: you like berry profiles but find candy strains cloying after a few. Blockberry is one you can smoke repeatedly across a day without palate fatigue, which is exactly what you want out of a 10 pack.
Kill Bill — the gassy hybrid
Shop Kill Bill THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Kill Bill brings the gas. Where most of our hybrids lead with sweetness, this one leads with a sharp, fuel-forward pungency and lets the sweetness show up underneath. It's the loudest jar in the lineup — you'll smell it through the packaging.
Reported effects: uplifting, energetic, creative.
Smoke this one if: you're an old-school gas and OG smoker who thinks the current market has gotten too sweet. Kill Bill is a hybrid on paper, but the character is closer to classic loud than to dessert. Bring it when you're smoking with people who know the difference.
Alien Cookies — earthy, sweet, and deceptively strong
Shop Alien Cookies THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
A cross in the Alien Dawg × Girl Scout Cookies family, Alien Cookies pairs the doughy, nutty sweetness of the Cookies line with a sour, funky edge from the Alien side. It's a more complex flavor than the fruit strains — less immediately delicious, more interesting.
Reported effects: uplifting, energetic, creative, with a euphoric head lift that arrives faster than most.
Smoke this one if: you like Cookies-family strains (GSC, Gelato, Sunset Sherbet) and want something in that lineage with more character. It's also a good creative-work strain — the head effect is bright without being scattered.
Georgia Pie — peach cobbler in a joint
Shop Georgia Pie THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Georgia Pie comes out of the Kush Mints × Gelatti cross and tastes like its name — sweet baked peach and pastry, with a doughy, faintly minty finish from the Kush Mints side. It's the dessert strain for people who want dessert without the candy-sugar thing.
Reported effects: uplifting, energetic, creative, with a relaxed body underneath that shows up later in the session.
Smoke this one if: you want a hybrid that starts bright and settles soft. Georgia Pie is a great late-afternoon strain — it'll carry you through the end of the workday and then let you transition into the evening without a hard switch.
🔴 The Sativas — daytime, focus, and getting out of the house
Gas Face — diesel, straight up
Shop Gas Face THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Gas Face is exactly what it says. Sharp diesel and solvent-fuel pungency, pepper on the back end, very little sweetness anywhere. It is the least sweet strain in our entire pre roll lineup.
Reported effects: uplifting, energetic, creative.
Smoke this one if: you want a wake-and-bake that actually feels like a stimulant, or you're a traditionalist who came up on gas strains and finds the current fruit-candy market a little silly. It's a strong morning and early-afternoon option.
Skip it if: you're prone to racing thoughts. Sharp sativas can amplify that.
Z Cubed — fruity sativa, bright and clear
Shop Z Cubed THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Z Cubed comes out of the Zkittlez side of the family, which makes it the rare sativa that tastes like tropical fruit candy instead of fuel. Sweet, bright, a little sour on the exhale — with a clear, functional head effect that doesn't come with the edge that gassier sativas sometimes carry.
Reported effects: uplifting, energetic, creative.
Smoke this one if: you want daytime energy but don't like how diesel sativas make you feel. Z Cubed is the friendliest sativa here and the one to try if past sativas have made you anxious or jittery. Good for hikes, errands, the gym, and daytime socializing.
Jet Fuel — the strongest daytime option
Shop Jet Fuel THCa Pre Rolls — 10 pack, 12.5g →
Also known as G6, Jet Fuel descends from Aspen OG × High Country Diesel and delivers a sharp, clean fuel profile with a slightly sweeter, piney finish than Gas Face. The effect is fast and pointed — this is the most stimulating strain in the lineup.
Reported effects: uplifting, energetic, creative.
Smoke this one if: you use sativas functionally — cleaning the house, long drives (as a passenger), writing, working out, getting through a task list. Jet Fuel is the one that gets you moving rather than just making the movie better.
Skip it if: it's after 6pm and you'd like to sleep tonight.

Why buy THCa flower online instead of going to a dispensary?
1. You know exactly what's in it
Every jar of Alpha THCa flower we sell is indoor grown without pesticides or additives and ships with a COA (Certificate of Analysis) — third-party lab results showing the cannabinoid breakdown and screening for contaminants. What's in the roll is flower. No oils, no kief dust, no THC diamonds packed in to inflate the numbers.
That last point matters more than most people realize. A lot of “high potency” pre rolls on the market get there by infusing distillate or coating the roll in concentrate. Ours don't — the potency comes from the flower itself, which is why the burn is even and the flavor holds from the first draw to the last.
And it's worth knowing that pesticide contamination is a real, documented problem in regulated cannabis markets, not a hemp-industry talking point. State regulators from California to Michigan have issued recalls after licensed dispensary product tested positive for pesticides that were never disclosed on the label. Buying from a source that publishes its lab work — and that grows without pesticides in the first place — puts the evidence in your hands instead of asking you to trust a sticker.
2. It costs meaningfully less
Dispensary cannabis carries excise taxes, cultivation taxes, local taxes, licensing costs, and retail markup — stacked on top of each other. Hemp-derived THCa doesn't sit in that tax structure, and the savings are real: our 10 packs run $45 for 12.5 grams, marked down from $58. Comparable indoor pre roll multipacks at a licensed dispensary commonly land 25% higher or more for the same weight, before tax.
Same flower quality. Same effect once you light it — THCa converts to THC through decarboxylation the moment you apply heat. Different price, because it's a different regulatory pipeline.
3. It shows up at your door
No dispensary hours. No driving. No waiting in line behind eleven people while a budtender explains terpenes. You order from your couch, it ships discreetly to your home, and you don't have to live in a legal state to do it.
For anyone in a state without adult-use retail — or anyone who lives 90 minutes from the nearest shop — this is the whole argument by itself.
4. Selection you'd never find on one shelf
A single dispensary carries what its local distributors stock. Online, you're picking from a curated lineup of exotic indoor strains side by side, with the full description and lab results in front of you and no pressure to decide in the 45 seconds you've got at the counter.
⚠️ Important: the November 2026 federal hemp ban
This is the part we'd rather not have to write.
On November 12, 2026, Section 781 of the 2026 Appropriations Act takes effect. It rewrites the federal definition of hemp in two ways that matter enormously to everything on this page:
- Hemp is redefined by “total THC” — 0.3% on a dry weight basis, inclusive of THCa. Today, THCa flower is federally compliant because its delta-9 THC content is under 0.3% before heat is applied. Under the new standard, the THCa itself counts toward the limit.
- Finished hemp products are capped at 0.4mg total THC per container. That is a threshold no real THCa flower product can meet.
Industry analysts estimate the change makes roughly 95% of existing hemp-derived cannabinoid products federally unlawful. THCa pre rolls are squarely in that 95%.
What this means practically: if the rule takes effect as written, hemp-derived THCa pre rolls will no longer be legally available to purchase online and ship to your door. Not at a discount, not from another site — the online hemp channel for these products closes. Your options become a licensed dispensary in a legal state, at dispensary prices with dispensary taxes, or nothing.
There is active lobbying for legislative relief before the deadline, and some states have moved on their own timelines. But nothing is guaranteed, and November is close.
If there's a strain in this guide you've been meaning to try, this is the honest advice: don't wait on it.

All products are hemp-derived and contain less than 0.3% Δ9 THC on a dry weight basis, compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill at the time of sale. Must be 21+ to purchase. THCa converts to THC when heated, and these products will produce intoxicating effects — do not drive or operate machinery after use. THCa can cause a positive result on a drug test. Strain effects described here are commonly reported experiences, not medical claims; these products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
